Adjudicators & Audition Class Teachers:
The BTW scholarships are adjudicated by pre-eminent figures in the Australian dance scene. Previous adjudicators include icons David McAllister, Colin Peasley, Barbara Nimmo, Adam Bull and Amber Scott. Audition classes are held at the Australian Ballet Centre or VCASS and are taught by professional teachers.
Participants of the Event:
The Scholarships are open to classical ballet students aged 7 and over (as at 30 June each year) who are studying a recognised syllabus. An introductory scholarship award class is also held annually for students aged 6 (as at 30 June). Auditions for Sections AA through to D are held mid-year and auditions for the senior sections Mabel Pryde & Paul Hammond are by video entry only. Finalists in the junior sections perform a classical solo in their teacher’s choice of music & choreography. No sets, props or extensive mime permitted. Senior finalists are required to perform a solo from a select list of Variations from the list provided on the BTW Website (refer to rules and regulations page for more information).

2021 Live auditions and semi-finals are held at the VCASS at 57 Miles St, Southbank VIC, 3006.
Finals are held at Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre on Cnr Bell St & St Georges Rd, Preston VIC 3072.
Entries and Schedules:
The BTW Vic Inc. deals solely with Teachers’ and not parents, any queries in regarding to BTW should be directed to the Schools and the teacher not the BTW. The BTW will not respond to any queries made by Parents’ Students’s or Family members of any Registered School’s and will deal solely with the Director or Teacher entering the students.The Audition time table will be generated after the entry cut off date. Please allow ample time for the BTW to process all entries and generate the audition timetable. Once generated, the timetable will be posted on the BTW website, Facebook page and emailed out to all Registered Teachers’ to forward to their students.
